Details of Position
1. Centre Manager
You will have overall responsibility for the school, ensuring the academic and social programmes are run effectively, and you will line manage the Director of Studies and the Activity Manager (you will also deputise for them on their days off). You will take primary responsibility for the safeguarding and welfare of the students, oversee allocation of accommodation, communicate effectively with staff, students, Group Leaders, the host institution and NCG Head Office, complete all paperwork in a timely manner, keep within the set budgets and deliver an outstanding experience to both students and Group Leaders.
Requirements:
- University degree
- Native level proficiency in English
- Previous management experience essential, preferably within a summer school setting (such as Activities Manager or DoS)
- Commitment to safeguarding students at all times
- Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills
- Office administration experience
- Flexibility and adaptability and the ability to think on your feet
- Experience of money management/budgets
- Ability to motivate your team
- First aid certificate desirable
2. Director of Studies
You will be responsible for the smooth running of the academic programme and will lead a team of teachers with varying amounts of experience. Duties include induction of academic staff, assessment testing and appropriate placement of students, timetabling, ensuring the syllabus is used effectively, cover teaching when necessary, teacher observations, tracking student absenteeism and the provision of teacher and Group Leader workshops. You will support the Centre Manager in the management of the centre and deputise for him/her when necessary, and will be expected to undertake pastoral, welfare or other duties as necessary.

- University degree
- DELTA or equivalent essential
- Previous summer school experience essential
- Commitment to safeguarding students at all times
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to create an enthusiastic team
- Energetic, positive and willing to contribute to the overall success of the summer school programme
3. English Language Teacher
You will plan and teach engaging and interactive lessons based on New College Groups themed materials, prepare students for excursions and assist the Director of Studies in testing new students. We operate a full-day teaching programme (30 contact hours a week Monday to Friday). Planning time, administrative and supervisory duties and CPD sessions will also be included in your working week (total 40 hours). There may be weeks when the teaching load is lighter, and you will be required to participate in the social/activity programme, working alongside the Activity Leaders. In this case you may be required to work some evenings and one day at the weekend.
Requirements:
- University degree + CELTA/Trinity Cert TESOL or equivalent
- Native level competency in English
- Good classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a friendly but professional relationship with students
- Experience of working with children/teenagers, preferably within a summer school setting
- Experience of teaching multilingual groups
- Flexible and adaptable
Native level English speaker preferred
Salary and Benefits
Centre Manager: £963 per week, plus free food and accommodation
Director of Studies: £773 per week, plus free food and accommodation
English Language Teacher (residential): £554 per week, plus free food and accommodation
English Language Teacher (non-residential): £601 per week (lunch included, accommodation and other meals not included)
