If you're an enthusiastic and qualified teacher who is passionate about deliver engaging, fun and inclusive English learning programmes while also introducing various aspects of UK culture then wed love to hear from you!
Currently, were seeking talented and energetic teachers travel to our partner school in Hainan (also known as Chinas Hawaii). Hainan is a tropical island province of China and the nations southernmost point. It's known for its tropical climate, and the breathtaking contrasts between the sandy secluded bays, rain forests, and its mountainous interior. It's a truly beautiful place to visit, work and explore.
Here, on a newly built and well-equipped university campus, you'll be inspiring and motivating young and extremely inquisitive and talented young students from all over the country to use English more confidently, work together better as a team, and to express their thoughts in the public arena. This will mean helping them to improve not only their general language skills but also help reinforce the relationships and friendships youll build between western and eastern cultures through the extra-curricular activities planned outside of the classroom.
In addition to this, you'll be invited to take a break from teaching during the programme and join us in the Chinese New Year celebrations one of the most special times of the year for the Asian community.
After this opportunity, there will be the possibility to cooperate with us on other projects including regular online teaching and the summer programme we hold every year in Cambridge. As one of our English teachers, you'll be:
- Producing daily lesson plans and delivering engaging English language classes that reflect our programme's aims and objectives. We have the lesson templates and appropriately graded language material already available but hope you can supplement these with your own style and ideas. This can initially be a mentored position if you feel you need additional help to get started.
- Proficient and comfortable in creating high quality teaching material tailored to the programme objectives and templates we have available for you to use.
- Maintaining a positive, inclusive and interactive learning and activity-based environment for local students aged 9 to 16.
- Inspiring and motivating students to participate actively. For example, learning to ask when they are unsure of something.
- Assessing and tracking students' progress as per CEFR guidelines - whether it is a general English course or something more examination specific. Training can be given on CEFR guidelines if youre not familiar with them or just need a refresher!
- Collaborating with fellow educators, senior staff and our social organisers to develop effective curriculum targets (both linguistic and activity based).
- Introducing our students to some of the more popular British sporting activities such as Football, Rounders and Netball.
- Cooperate with our social organisers on social excursions and also participate/lead various scheduled events as/when needed.
- Be an ambassador for the UK and its culture.

Qualifications
- Experience with teaching mono-lingual international students, especially those aged 9 to 16, is a plus but not necessary.
- Experience of producing lesson plans which include both primary and secondary objectives would also be advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience of guiding students successfully to achieve their specific language goals.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching - creating an environment where our learners feel safe and comfortable to develop their language skills.
- Energy and enthusiasm both inside and outside the classroom for the wide range of activities that youll be involved in.
- The ability to generate and maintain momentum in the curriculum and your classes.
- Proficiency in software packages such as Microsoft 365 for the purpose of creating content.
