Details of Position

Purpose of the Job/Principal Duties:
The post of Academic Manager is a senior position, and the successful candidate will be a member of the schools management structure.

Main duties: -
The academic curriculum and academic life of the School -
To take overall responsibility for all aspects of teaching and learning within the school. -
To develop and implement the educational philosophy of the school and to promote a culture of best practice. -
To advise the Directors on all academic matters in the centre. -
To promote individual departmental initiatives where appropriate. -
To attend any senior management or meetings as required. and to co-ordinate with other departmental managers
To lead and manage all EFL teachers to encourage, support and challenge them to maintain and raise the already high academic standards. -
To monitor constantly staff performance and to be the first port of call for any teacher in need of advice or support.
To chair meetings where appropriate -
To ensure all Continual Professional Development programs are in place and vibrant. -
To arrange cover for absent staff; to record and monitor all absences. -
To ensure, where necessary, with interviewing applicants for teaching posts and to advise on the appointment of staff.
To oversee the allocation of staff in consultation with the School Directors -
To oversee the timetabling and administration of preparation -
To provide cover teaching when required to do so.
To ensure student admissions are managed professionally and constantly monitor and manage arrangements for entrance testing and assessment -
To supervise the maintenance of complete and up-to-date records related to teaching i.e. lesson plans and work covered. -
To supervise the preparation student reports and/or course reports within agreed deadlines.
To take responsibility for maintaining teaching resources and premises. -
To help develop, advance and expand teaching resources -
To motivate students to improve their learning skills.
To ensure quality and recognition are fit for purpose and maintained to the highest standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience -EFL Management staff are required to hold; -
A minimum of 5 years experience as an A-DOS or Academic Manager
A DELTA qualification or equivalent -
A minimum of a CELTA qualification or equivalent -
A degree or equivalent qualifications/experience. -
Experience of Teaching EFL Classes

Salary and Benefits

Salary: 45,000.00-50,000.00 per year
