If this sounds like you, we'd love you to join our talented team of Activity Leaders, Houseparents and Course Assistants working on our UK based residential young learner courses this summer. Contracts of varying lengths are available between June and August 2025.

As a Residential Activity Leader, you'll play a key role in ensuring that students have a safe, enjoyable, and enriching time including:
- Plan and lead engaging activities in performing arts, sports, arts and crafts and large group games and evening events.
- Accompany and guide students on cultural trips to local attractions, ensuring students complete all work required.
- Act as a role model, always ensuring students safety and well-being, both during activities and within the residential setting.
- Provide pastoral support to students adjusting to the summer school environment, including meal and house supervision.
- Work closely with other staff members to maintain a high standard of service and ensure smooth delivery of the program.

As a residential Houseparent you will be responsible for the care, supervision and well-being of students aged 7 17, fostering a home-from-home atmosphere, ensuring students feel comfortable and happy while they embark on the summer course. Duties include:
- Oversee the day-to-day routines in the boarding house, including wake-ups, mealtimes, curfews, and lights-out.
- Ensure all students are safe, cared for, and supported, addressing and reporting any concerns promptly and appropriately.
- Participate in evening and study tour activities to build rapport and encourage student involvement.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and welfare concerns, adhering to Bells policies and procedures.

As a residential Course Assistant you will:
As a Course Assistant, you will:
- Carry out general administration duties including photocopying and filing, working with electronic documents and spreadsheets, and preparing staff and student ID cards.
- Support in manning the course office and provide support and assistance to staff and students as required.
- Assist with the unpacking and distribution of resources, and complete and maintain comprehensive stock and facilities status checks.
- Assist with the administration of the airport transfer service to ensure a smooth service to arriving and departing students.
- Support activity leaders and teachers during lessons, activities, and excursions, stepping into various roles when needed.
- Monitor students during residential hours, ensuring house rules are followed and providing assistance as needed.

- A DBS/Police Check will be requested in the event of a successful application.
- We do not accept DBS Checks undertaken by other organisations (unless you are on the update service).
- All gaps in CVs must be explained satisfactorily.
- Proof of identity and qualifications will be required.
- All references will be followed up and reference requests will ask specifically whether there is any reason you should not be engaged in situations where you have responsibility for, or substantial access to, persons under 18.
- Appropriate suitability checks will be required prior to confirmation of appointment.

Qualifications

- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare at all times.
- A positive, flexible, and proactive approach with a high level of energy and enthusiasm is essential.
- Must be willing to live onsite at the residential school for the duration of the contract.

For Activity Leaders experience of teaching, coaching or leading sports (Football, tennis, cricket, archery, volleyball, badminton, basketball and hockey) art and design, cookery and/or performing arts is desirable.

For Houseparents, pastoral or welfare experience and experience of working with children in a residential environment is desirable.

Four Course Assistants experience in an administrative role, customer service, or working with young people is an advantage.

Salary and Benefits

- Activity Leaders and Houseparents - £545 per week. Course Assistants £490 per week.
