Discovery Summer is recruiting committed professional EFL teachers for residential summer posts in leading UK boarding schools. Experienced and newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply. You will need a CELTA, TESOL, PGCE or equivalent TEFL qualification.

Contracts available for 2-4 weeks + 2 day paid induction.

Locations:
Benenden School, Kent (8-12 years, 13-15 years) Mon 7 July - Wed 6 Aug
Winchester College, Hampshire (13-16 years) Wed 3 July - Fri 1 Aug
Shrewsbury School, Shropshire (11-16 years) Mon 30 June - Wed 30 July

You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, communicative EFL lessons. Lessons will include engaging activities to help students develop accuracy, fluency and most importantly, confidence in spoken English.

Duties:
-20-21 hours teaching per week
-Attend meetings, plan lessons
-Carry out some additional duties each week e.g. wake-up, bedtime, house night games
-Ensure safeguarding and welfare of students and respond sensitively to pastoral matters
-Sleep on-site, normally in a room near the students

The working week:
-Residential staff work a 6-day week
-1 x 24-hour period off per week. (Shrewsbury - Sundays, Winchester - Sundays, Benenden - Fridays)
-Some time off on working days
-As we expect staff to work hard we offer excellent rates of pay and provide meals and accommodation at the school.

We are a family-run organisation with over 20 years experience running top quality summer programmes. We have truly multinational courses with limits on each language group. In 2024 we welcomed students of 48 different nationalities. Up to 10% of students are British: our English Student Hosts who are fully integrated with the programme.
