Details of Position

This is a maternity leave position from end of February until mid June which could lead to position the following academic year. Spark is a young dynamic company in wonderful El Puerto de Santa Maria in Andalucia. Spark is located just 10 mins from the beach and 10 mins from historic centre. We look for young candidates, or ones young at heart, to teach children's class in our English Academy. We place more emphasis on energy, enthusiasm and a desire to develop and improve, than we do on experience and qualifications This makes a TEFL Teaching position at Spark perfect for talented recently graduated TEFL teachers looking for their first time position in a supportive and passionate environment. We place a high emphasis on the team atmosphere and aim not just to educate our clients but inspire them to learn.

Qualifications

At Spark we believe in selecting candidates based on their potential more than on their qualifications. We of course prefer candidates to have a recognised TEFL qualification but they need not have experience. We also welcome applications from anyone, regardless of qualifications, who has suitable experience working with kids and huge desire to teach them English and massive interest in developing as person and professional.

Salary and Benefits

1089EUROS gross a month for apx teaching timetable 16-20.30 Monday to Friday. Expected maternity dates from end of February until 20th of June. Chance of continuation for next academic year. Holidays are provided at easter. There is the opportunity to stay in the Spark residence on arrival to Spain but this does depend on their being space. We place a high importance on staff development, not just as teachers but as professionals and people in general. We seek to help staff realise their potential.

Job Summary

The following are the key parts of the job:
- Teach children's class (usually 3 classes a day) from 16.00-20.30 apx Monday to Friday.
- Classes range from: babies (3 years old) all the way to C1 level teens. Normally most teachers have either: one babies class (3-5 years old), one kids class (6-12) and one teens class (13-17) or two kids or teens class and one of the other.
- All teachers run trimestral tutorials with parents to keep them informed and make sure we are aware of all needed issues.
