We offer year round courses in General English and 25+, and seasonal courses for students aged over 50, a Summer Course for Teenagers, and groups.

Job Summary

Details of Position

ELC Chester is located close to the centre of the beautiful, historic city of Chester, in the north west of England right on the North Wales border.

We are now looking for short course full-time teaching staff (including summer teaching staff) to start work on either our Group programmes, General English for Adults and/or Summer Course for Teenagers. Ideally we would like to recruit teachers with some experience, but newly qualified teachers are warmly welcome to apply as methodological support will also be provided. Well qualified and experienced teachers may also be considered for further fixed term contract teaching work in the school.
You must have the right to the work in the UK & unfortunately we are unable to sponsor any applicants without this right to work.
We are unable to provide accommodation in the Chester area.
Appointments are subject to the current legislation covering vetting arrangements for adults.

Qualifications

- University degree (at least at undergraduate level)
- CELTA (or equivalent is necessary)
- PGCE in teaching English or Modern Foreign Languages (is welcome)
- PGCE in other areas will also be considered

Salary and Benefits

- our hourly rate ranges from £23 (for newly qualified teachers) to £27.60 (for two-years post-DELTA teachers). You will also be able to claim additional pay for accompanying social programme actvities and visits

- summer teachers for teens on site in mornings & activities/excursions in afternoons
- teach English as a Foreign Language to classes on a range of ELC courses, as required.
- prepare lessons conscientiously
- set and mark homework as per course guidelines
- give tutorials as required
- keep accurate and up-to-date records
- attend Teachers Meetings on weekly basis
- aware of the Health and Safety policy at ELC
